Debutante Sydni Hope

Dear Family, Friends, and Supporters,

I am happy to announce that I have been selected to participate in the 2024 Debutante Cotillion sponsored by the Marietta Roswell Alumnae Chapter (MRAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.  The 16th Biennial Ball, the premier event for selected young ladies from the Metropolitan Atlanta area, will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park.  The Cotillion provides the 2024 Debutantes with cultural and educational experiences that will create lifelong memories on the path to finer womanhood.

Please allow me to tell you a little about myself.  I am the proud daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Silas & Asha Hope, and a junior attending the Greater Atlanta Christian School in Norcross, GA, where the educational experience nurtures the whole family in a faith-infused community.  I enjoy sports, traveling, serving the less fortunate, and hanging out with my family and friends.  Ultimately, I get my greatest joy when I can give myself wholeheartedly and turn frowns upside down.  I have particularly enjoyed serving on mission trips with my school for the past four years in locations like Arizona and Guatemala.  At school, I am a member of the Spanish Honor Society, National Beta Club, Service Club, Blue Lives Club and the Culture Breakfast Club. In addition, I am a member of NBMBAA Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) and Jack and Jill of America, Dunwoody Atlanta Chapter where I serve as the Community Service Lead.  In addition, I have been appointed to serve as a Teen Ambassador of Philanthropy & Service for the Jack and Jill of America Southeastern Region Teen Conference Foundation/Community Service Committee.  I am a scholar athlete who has earned President’s List for ten consecutive semesters including middle school and high school for maintaining a high level of scholarship.  As a varsity softball and tennis player, I am committed to my sports and find true value in being an integral leader of the team.  Evidence of my success in softball has been shown by recognition such as the Gwinnett County Team of the Month and Scholar Athlete Awards, Scenic City Tournament All Star as well as an invitation to the National Showcase of Minority Softball Prospects, representing the top 120 prospects in the state of Georgia.

I am currently a Honors Dual Enrollment Student with a 4.2 GPA and plan to major in Chemistry or Biochemistry upon entering undergraduate school. While I am still undecided about my college choices, my heart gravitates towards universities in Florida.  It is my highest hope to continue my academic career at a university where I can play softball as well.  After undergraduate school, my plan is to enter medical school with a focus on sports medicine and orthopedics.  With my education, love for serving others and my passion for sports, it is my intention to work in various communities nationwide and abroad to provide medical expertise for athletes, both amateur and professional.  Icing on the cake would be landing my dream job with Major League Baseball.  Make no mistake about it, I’m already praying that God orders my steps.  With that, there is no doubt in my mind that I will land right where I’m supposed to be!
